MAKÜ Burdur Health Services Vocational School Student Orientation Week

Activities for the “Student Orientation Week” were held between September 23-25, 2026, to help our new students adapt better to our city, our school, and the surroundings.
The Student Orientation Week Program started with the opening speech of our Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Taşdemir. Following that, our lecturer Berna Kılıç introduced our University and Vocational School, and the administrative staff of our Vocational School was introduced. The first session was completed with the presentation of the “Student Information System” by our Vocational School Secretary Kani Ziya GÖKALP.
In the afternoon session, a “hospital adaptation training” was conducted for our second-year students who will start vocational training in the field by Burdur Provincial Health Directorate Student Affairs Unit Responsible Burçin Yılmaz, Infection Nurse Canan Danacı, Psychologist Emre Koç, Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Nezahat Başhelvacı Sözgen, Patient Rights Unit Responsible Tamer Yılmaz, Quality Unit's Feyza Akıner, and Computer Technician Ünal Erçin. Then, an academic advisor and student meeting was held, concluding the first day's program.
In the first session of the second day of our Student Orientation Week program, a cultural and historical introduction of Burdur Province was made by our guests from the Burdur Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism. Certificates of appreciation were presented to our participants Aytül BEKTAŞ and Bülent ULUKIŞ by our Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim TAŞDEMİR.

In the second part of the second day of our Student Orientation Week program, we hosted teachers from Burdur Public Education Center and our Local Artists. After the opening speeches of Public Education Center Director Hamit KAYACIOĞLU, our teachers from different branches such as English, music, clothing, and food services provided information to our students about the opportunities they can benefit from at the Public Education Center. At the end of the presentations, our local artists “Intangible Cultural Heritage Carrier” Sabri Özdemir and Yasin Akkaya provided our students with a wonderful music performance. After the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to the teachers of the Public Education Center on behalf of our Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim TAŞDEMİR to Public Education Center Director Hamit KAYACIOĞLU.

On the third and final day of our Student Orientation Week program, as part of the “Struggle Against Addiction”, Murat Kırıl from the Burdur Provincial Police Department Narcotics Crime Investigation Branch and Murat Tekne from the Cyber Crime Investigation Branch met with our students. After providing information to our students, certificates of appreciation were presented to the participants by our Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim TAŞDEMİR.
In the second part of our program, our lecturer Dr. Sezai ZEYBEKOĞLU from the International Relations Coordination of our University gave a presentation on “International Opportunities: Erasmus+ Mobility”.
